Do you want to develop your understanding of Microsoft Excel?

Build your confidence working with Excel in this affordable short course!

We will improve your skills by looking at strategies for dealing with data in order to work out what the data tells us. For example, you might use it to automatically identify a store’s best-selling items or those that are not worth stocking any more, or which salespeople should receive a bonus. Or, to compare the performance of various shares or superannuation funds.

We will look at how you can best present the data (e.g. charts, statistics or something else), and ways of highlighting certain aspects of the data. You might use this in creating a business plan or for an annual report. This course deals with data acquired from various sources. Often the data will need to be reformatted in some way before it can be imported into Excel; you will learn how to use Word to do this.

This course picks up from our course Microsoft Office – Essential Skills, and is aimed at capable users of Excel who want to extend their knowledge of Excel. You will be expected to know how to drive Excel, performing the basic operations plus know how to use functions and charts.

This course is designed for people who will be using Microsoft Excel in a work setting, be that small businesses or in an office.

Although we’ll use Windows computers, you are welcome to bring a Mac – Kevin will adapt his teaching to include you.
