The HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course will provide you with the knowledge and training to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on adults and children when they are unresponsive and not breathing and gives you the skills to take control and provide immediate help to a patient until the paramedics arrive.
You will learn how to manage a cardiac arrest, perform CPR at the correct rate and use the AED to provide the patient with the best opportunity to survive. You can use these skills in your workplace, the home or in community settings
All training provided is in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
Course Content
- Manage and assess an emergency situation
- Assess the casualty and recognise the need for CPR
- First aiders legal responsibilities
- DRSABCD
- Seek assistance from emergency response service
- Perform Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on adult and infant manikins
- Demonstration and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Report details of incident to workplace supervisor as appropriate
- Debriefing/Welfare
Entry requirements
There are no pre-requisites, however please note that students must have the physical ability to kneel on the floor and perform two minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin.
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
In order to receive a certificate for any accredited course, students must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Assessment
Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and a written test.
Note: It is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of uninterrupted CPR must be performed, while kneeling on the floor, for at least 2 minutes on an adult manikin placed on the floor.
Certification
On successful completion, you will be issued with the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID001 Provide CPR
Re-Certification
The Australian Resuscitation Council advises that you should update this course every year to maintain currency.
Group Bookings
We can provide a course for your own group of learners at our location in Park Orchards or in your own workplace, school, sporting club or business. Minimum number is 8 learners.
