This informal and relaxed class will introduce you to basic Auslan conversational skills in order to communicate more effectively with Deaf people.
This course is suitable for people with limited sign language skills or knowledge. This course will be run online, via Zoom.
About your instructor:
* Background information on Deaf Community and Culture
* Fingerspelling exercises
* Basic Auslan signs for introductions, greetings, numbers, family and colours
* Communication strategies and expressions
* Basic grammar and sentence structure
Shae has recently joined us and we are excited to welcome her. Shae has extensive experience teaching Auslan to beginners. Shae uses Auslan in both her personal and professional life, with many family members who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Shae works with Deaf clients and has been teaching Auslan to community members for years.
She is passionate about sharing the culture and language of Auslan with the local community!
