This informal and relaxed class will introduce you to basic Auslan conversational skills in order to communicate more effectively with Deaf people.
This course is suitable for people with limited sign language skills or knowledge. This course will be run online, via Zoom.
* Background information on Deaf Community and Culture

* Basic Auslan signs for introductions, greetings, numbers, family
* Communication strategies and expressions
* Depicting Signs
About your instructor:
Sara is a driven Deaf professional who has worked in several roles in education and advocacy within the Deaf sectors. She has extensive experience teaching students from Vocational Education to University level as both a Vocational Education trainer and tutor. All her work is based on a passion where she works towards an equitable future by promoting accessibility, diversity, and inclusion. In her spare time, Sara can be found hiking, photographing, and creating arts through different mediums.
