Do you want to develop your understanding of Microsoft Office?
Word, Excel and Powerpoint are the backbone of the working office and knowledge of these is essential if you want to work in an office.
We will use Word to create letters, tables and more complex documents, taking control of formatting them so that they are properly business-like.
We will use Excel to do basic arithmetic such as adding up long lists of numbers, then finding average, maximum, minimum. Then, we will use Excel to manage pricing of a list of items, with markup, profit, GST and other calculations. You’ll learn to format numbers to automatically highlight those with certain properties (e.g. the top 10%), and how to create business charts.
You will also learn how to use Powerpoint to create a presentation, with tips and secrets for quickly creating well-structured and effective presentations.
To join this course, you will be expected to be able to use the basic functions of the computer including saving files and using Windows Explorer to organise your files. If you don’t have these skills, please consider our course: Introduction to Computers.
Although we’ll use Windows computers, you are welcome to bring a Mac – Kevin will adapt his teaching to include you.
This course is designed for people who will be using Microsoft in a work setting, be that small businesses or in an office.
Great to improve your skills at work, for small business, or to improve your career prospects.
