This accredited unit provides the essential skills and knowledge needed to identify and report signs of abuse, neglect, or harm in children and young people. It is a vital qualification for anyone working in education, childcare, healthcare, or community services, where early recognition and action can make a life-changing difference to a child’s safety and wellbeing.
Throughout the course, participants will learn how to recognise indicators of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect. Training includes understanding legal and ethical responsibilities, following workplace procedures, and complying with relevant state and federal legislation. Participants will also gain practical skills in documenting and reporting concerns, communicating with appropriate authorities, and supporting children and young people with professionalism, confidentiality, and care.
This unit is designed for educators, childcare workers, healthcare professionals, and community service workers who have a duty of care to protect children and young people and are required to report potential risks or signs of harm.
On completion of CHCPRT025, participants will be confident in identifying and reporting concerns, fulfilling their legal and ethical obligations, and contributing to a safer environment for all children and young people.
